Hartley Wintney Fire Station protected with 4no. unique Hydrodynamic Automatic Self-Rising Flood Barriers.

Lakeside protected the critical community premises located in Hook on behalf of Hampshire County Council.

Lakeside installed four automatic hydrodynamic barriers up to 8m wide to increase the flood resilience of the Fire Station. The barriers were successfully installed, tested and commissioned by Lakeside in-house site operatives.

“The installation of the automatic floor barriers was surprisingly simple, especially considering the site’s intricate nature… The overall build quality of the barriers appears to be exceptionally robust, offering significant redundancy through multiple seals. Given the site’s usage, which includes heavy vehicle traffic and is typically unoccupied, these barriers serve as a comprehensive solution, further supported by well-thought-out maintenance features. The design of the barriers is notably straightforward, and their ability to operate without motors or electronic support is a fantastic way to prevent electrical failures and reduce costly UPS expenses. Overseeing the installation of these barriers has been an immensely fulfilling experience, and witnessing their performance during controlled partition tests is truly impressive”.
