We would like to forward our thanks to Lakeside for completing installation of flood measures at our home in South Wales. The reassurance of having some form of defence against a repeat of the 2020 floods, for us, is immeasurable and will enable us to sleep soundly knowing our home is protected.

We feel obliged to also highlight the professionalism of both Lakeside teams involved (Richard and Jordan, Jason and John) who couldn’t have been any more accommodating. They all worked efficiently and in trying (heatwave) conditions whilst also taking time to show us how to install and remove the barriers without any undue pressure.

Nothing was too much trouble for them. We were particularly pleased with their diligent approach to tidying up after completing their work ensuring our property was left in good order.

The installation of the automatic floor barriers was surprisingly simple, especially considering the site’s intricate nature… The overall build quality of the barriers appears to be exceptionally robust, offering significant redundancy through multiple seals.

Given the site’s usage, which includes heavy vehicle traffic and is typically unoccupied, these barriers serve as a comprehensive solution, further supported by well-thought-out maintenance features.

The design of the barriers is notably straightforward, and their ability to operate without motors or electronic support is a fantastic way to prevent electrical failures and reduce costly UPS expenses.

Overseeing the installation of these barriers has been an immensely fulfilling experience, and witnessing their performance during controlled partition tests is truly impressive.

I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of the Lakeside Flood Solutions fabricated gates we have installed at our site in the West Midlands. I was specifically impressed with the actual design of the clamping arrangements (Locking/latching levers) because they had rollers incorporated into the design. This clearly aids the operator during gate closure. I have not seen this design before, but it reduces the effort required to clamp the gate closed due to a reduction in friction that would otherwise be present. I was not expecting this so perhaps you need to market this feature to future prospective clients.

The floodgates we have sealed very well during the SAT testing with zero leakage through the gate seals, which is testament to the sealing/clamping arrangements incorporated in the design. The gate hinge and bearing arrangements were also of very good quality and the maintenance free nature of the bearings should give us many years of trouble-free service.

I have viewed your YouTube videos and compared them with others and I agree that other methods are unreliable especially when relying on mastic seals!
EPDM or neoprene is a minimum requirement and I have been looking for a floor channel section and yours hits the spot, well done I believe you have the right approach, do keep lobbying where you can.

The installation of the barrier, door and the other works were finished yesterday. Just to let you know, I am very impressed with the quality of the product and the way in which the guys went about the work. They conducted themselves in a very professional manner.

I will send some photo’s through to the local council and see whether they want to use them in any of the forums relating to the floods.
